This Harp is laying
on its side but is designed to work either standing or
lying down as you see it here. This model has a
single set of strings and a single resonance chamber. From this side air
is funneled inwards and past the strings. The cover is open
on this instrument and strings can be tuned whilst easily accessible.
The harps are designed to be placed in a position where the maximum
air flow past the strings can be achieved. This might mean
placing the harp in a window which is closed around the harp so that
air entering the room has to flow past the harps strings. I've seen them placed
on the corner of buildings where air past the corner flows most quickly.
The instrument is made from fine Veneered Ply and finished with several
coats
of a high grade Estapol to bring out the rich natural colors of the
timber. This harp is about
1000mm long, 200mm wide and 300mm deep. It weighs about 3Kg. The reason I say
"about" is because many clients ask for specific dimensions
to fit a certain area of their home or office. Would you like to hear a sample? Here's some in MP3 format. Here's a 700Kb sample
